The Perth Mint published final mintages of Australian Lunar series I – one of the most popular gold coin series in the world.
For the 1-oz Lunar gold coins, which are the most recommended investment coins, the maximum mintage of 30,000 was reached by only three coins: Dragon, Snake and Horse. The next closest coin to the limit was 1 oz Year of the Dog gold coin (26,334 pieces). The smallest mintage was the 1997 Ox with 13,709 being made. Less than 17,000 of four 1-oz Lunar gold coins were minted: the Rat, the Tiger, the Goat and the Monkey.
Now, that the Lunar mintages are published, they become even more attractive to the collector world, where mintage plays a big role in determining coin’s value.
